Maxim Boon
Maxim Boon first began composing at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester. In 2002, he was awarded both the school's composition prizes before receiving a scholarship to study composition at the Royal College of Music in London under Kenneth Hesketh and Tim Salter. In 2004 he transferred to the Royal Academy of Music to complete his degree with Simon Bainbridge and Christopher Austin (orchestration). In 2009 he completed his postgraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music where he studied with David Horne.
Maxim’s works have been performed by the BBC Singers, The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by James MacMillan, the Arditti Quartet, the Fidelio Trio and the London Sinfonietta. His work has been performed at the Spitalfields Festival, the Late Festival in York, the Cheltenham Festival, The Soundwaves Festival, the Sounds-New Festival, the Sydney Fringe Festival and on BBC Radio 3 and ABC Radio in Australia
